Before the procedure
Please don’t eat foods having seeds, beans, tomato,
fruits, milk and milk products, roti, green vegetables.
1. Please take only plain food and plenty of liquid on
the day before colonoscopy.
2. In the morning, please have plain rice and dal
(musuro dal).
3. Please have black tea and biscuits in the
afternoon
Preparation:
All stool in the intestine should be emptied before
examination.
1. Please take only plain food and plenty of liquid
the day before.
2. Please take 1 packet of PEGLEC in 2 litres of
warm/cold water on the previous night.
3. At 6:00 AM, Please mix 2 pack of ORS (Jeevanjal)
in 2 liters of warm water and take 200-250ml/ 15
minute.
4. Please reach the hospital by 9:00 am. Inform
doctor about your other medication.
5. Inform if you had any complication during the
previous colonoscopies
After the procedure
When your colonoscopy is completed, the effects
of the medication will wear off in 1-2 hours. Please
avoid food intake for 1 hour. You will be informed
about the results of the procedure and any additional
information will be provided if you need to know.
If you have been given mild sedatives or anesthesia
during the procedure you may need to rest in the
recovery room for 2-3 hours.
You will be informed about the result of investigation
like
Biopsy as soon as possible.
